Three things in that table decide which tool fits your file.
How much of the page gets read. ChatGPT takes the digital text and drops the images, so a chart-heavy report or a scan can come back summarised as if those pages were blank. A prompt to paste
This asks for page references up front and forces the model to say what it could not read:

How far AI gets you

What you still do
- Verify every number, date and quote against the original. Open the PDF and search for the figure. Page references help, but a wrong page number is still a wrong page number until you look.
